CBI Arrests Four, Including Two Senior Officers of RDSO Lucknow, in Bribery Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four people, including two senior officers of the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow, in a bribery case.
The two government officials arrested are a Deputy Director and a Senior Section Engineer of RDSO. Two representatives of a private company have also been arrested in the case.
According to the CBI, the accused officials allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe from a Kolkata-based private company in exchange for giving a favourable inspection report for the company’s plant and machinery.
The CBI registered the case on September 15, 2026, and later conducted a trap operation at a hotel in Howrah. The four accused were allegedly caught while accepting Rs 4 lakh as illegal gratification.
During the operation, the CBI also recovered and seized another Rs 4.73 lakh in cash. Searches are being carried out at the accused persons’ residential and office premises in Kolkata, Lucknow and Bihar.
The agency said it has recovered important documents and digital evidence during the searches. The accused will be produced before the competent court.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
