Revised DA for Government Employees in Jammu and Kashmir
The Administrative wing of the finance department Government of Jammu and Kashmir has recently released a new scale that relates to the increase in rates of Dearness Allowance (DA) for the government employees within the region. This measure is in view of other sector development challenges such as the cost of living and inflation affecting the local people.
The DA which is considered an essential element to mitigate the cost issues has now been enhanced further to provide necessary financial aid to the hardworking public servants who devote themselves to managing and running the Jammu & Kashmir government.
The Dearness Allowance for government employees has thus risen from the current 46 percent to 50 percent of basic pay as per the new scale from January 1, 2024.
This has been due to a circular recently released by the Codes Division under the Ministry of Finance wherein the new DA is set to be incorporated in the monthly paycheck from May 2024. Besides, with respect to the budget schedule of expenses for the specified period from January to April 2024, it was also determined that the arrears will be paid in cash.
