NFL Receives Rs. 15.23 Crore GST Demand Notice, Plans to Challenge Order Before Commissioner Appeals
The National Fertilisers Limited (NFL) has recently issued a regulatory filing (Ref No. NFL/SEC/SE/1927) dated October 28, 2025, addressed to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited, disclosing information under Regulation 30 of the Securities Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (“SEBI Listing Regulations”).
The company shares that it received a demand notice dated September 23, 2025, from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Audit-1), Afzalpur Takke, Vijayapur, for the period April 2021 to March 2022. Later, the commissioner issued a final order (GST DRC-07), dated October 28, 2025, to the company, confirming the demand amounting to Rs 15.23 Crores under Sections 73(9) and 50 of the IGST/CGST/KGST ACT 2017 R/W Rule 142(5) of the IGST/CGST/KGST RULES 2017. M/s. National Fertilisers Limited, Bengaluru, (GSTN No. 29AAACN0189N1ZO) during the period from April 2021 to March 2022.
The company claimed that they were not given any chance of a personal hearing before the issuance of the final order, which is a violation of natural justice. Hence, the company is not satisfied with this action of the department and is currently reviewing the order and will soon file an appeal before the Commissioner of Appeals to challenge the order.
The company states that the specified action of the department does not have any material impact on its financial and operational activities.
