EPFO Notifies Revised Provident Fund Interest Rate for Q3 of FY 2025-26
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has recently issued a formal representation (No. HRD/3 (2) 2012/SPF/1448), dated October 27, 2025, announcing revisions in the interest rate for Q3 concerning the Staff Provident Fund in EPFO.
The representation is addressed to all Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioners (HQ)-Zones, including All Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioners (Zones), Director (PDNAS), and All Regional Provident Fund Commissioners.
A copy of Resolution (No. 5(3)-B (PD)/2023), dated October 10, 2025, issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (Budget Division) on the above subject is enclosed for appropriate action/implementation.

The resolution dated October 10, 2025, says that during the financial year 2025-26, accumulations to the credit of subscribers to the General Provident Fund (Central Services), Contributory Provident Fund (India), All India Services Provident Fund, State Railway Provident Fund, General Provident Fund (Defence Services), Indian Ordnance Department Provident Fund, Indian Ordnance Factories Workmen’s Provident Fund, Indian Naval Dockyard Workmen’s Provident Fund, Defence Services Officers Provident Fund and Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund will carry an interest rate of 7.1%. This rate was scheduled to be in effect from October 01, 2025, to December 31, 2025, meaning the current rate is in effect.
