CBI Arrests Two Officials of ESIC Vijaywada for Demanding and Accepting a Bribe of Rs. 50,000
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recently arrested two officials [Revenue Recovery Officer (RRO) and Social Security Officer (SSO)] of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Vijaywada, in relation to a bribery case.
According to the complaint registered, these two officials are alleged to have demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant.
In 2020, a Proprietorship Firm was started by the complainant to furnish FCI tender bids. The complainant registered the said firm with ESIC. After a period, his firm was excluded by FCI for a period of three years. Because of this, the complainant was restricted from doing any contracts. Both alleged officials visited the residential location of the complainant on November 20, 2025, and passed notice of attaching his house. Meanwhile, the SSO demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000 (Rs. 30,000 for the RRO and Rs. 20,000 for himself) for stopping proceedings till December 31, 2025.
The complainant instantly filed a case against these ESIC officials on November 25, 2025. Thereafter, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) organised a trap to catch the accused official red-handed while accepting the bribe money of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant. Presently, both officials have been arrested and are under the custody of the CBI. They will soon be produced before the Honourable Spl. Judge Court for CBI Cases, Vijayawada.
