Government Extends the Effective Date of Establishing RDs Under the Companies Act

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has notified the revision of the effective date for the establishment of Regional Directorates (RDs) under the Companies Act, 2013.

As per the notification issued by the MCA, the Central Government, using its power given under sub-section (1) of 396 of the Companies Act, 2013, has amended the earlier notification of Government, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 24th October, 2025 vide number S.O. 4852 (E), dated the 23rd October, 2025.

In this earlier notification, the setup was to take effect from January 1, 2026. However, as per the new notification, this date has been amended to February 16, 2026.

In the said notification, in paragraph 2, for the figures, letters and word “1st January, 2026”, the words, figures and letters “The 16th February, 2026” shall be substituted“, the notification said.
