Central Govt Reconstitutes Advisory Board Under Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act
The Ministry of Finance (Central Economic Intelligence Bureau) has issued a notification (G.S.R. 194(E) Dated 18th March, 2026) regarding the reconstitution of the Advisory Board under the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974. This new notification replaces the previous notification (G.S.R. No. 173 (E) dated 13th March, 2025).
The Central Government, using its power given under Section 8(1) of the COFEPOSA Act, 1974, has reconstituted the Advisory Board, having the following persons:
  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani (Chairperson)
  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anish Dayal (Member)
  • Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tejas Karia (Member)
This board will be reconstituted for one year, starting from March 23, 2026.
