Government Amendment on Export of Baryte under Foreign Trade Policy 2023 [Read Notification]
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) recently issued a notification (No. 12/2026-27) regarding an amendment in the export policy of baryte (Natural Barium Sulphate).
The Central Government, using its powers given by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, has made the following amendment to the export policy conditions of barite (Natural Barium Sulphate):

- Export of Grade A and Grade B baryte is permitted only with prior authorisation/licensing from the DGFT, as per the procedure applicable to items classified under the “Restricted” category.
- Grade CDW baryte will continue to remain freely exportable.
