Aditya Birla Sun Life MF Announces Merger of Target Maturity Fund with Corporate Bond Fund

Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has announced the merger of Aditya Birla Sun Life CRISIL IBX 60:40 SDL+AAA PSU-Apr 2025 Index Fund with Aditya Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond Fund from April 30, 2025. The action forms part of an initiative towards simplifying the fund platform and providing investors with a more streamlined experience of investment.

The Aditya Birla Sun Life CRISIL IBX 60:40 SDL+AAA PSU-Apr 2025 Index Fund, which opened for subscription on March 30, 2022, is an open-ended target maturity index fund that invests in a mix of State Development Loans (SDLs) and AAA-rated Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) bonds. The fund is managed passively with the goal of replicating the CRISIL IBX 60:40 SDL + AAA PSU Index – April 2025. The asset under management value of the fund was Rs.166.64 crore as of January 31, 2025, and the expense ratio was 0.20%.

Aditya Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond Fund is an open-ended debt fund with investments in largely corporate bonds. It seeks to generate maximum return with high liquidity through the active management of a diversified portfolio of high-quality money market instruments and debt.

After the merger takes effect, the Aditya Birla Sun Life CRISIL IBX 60:40 SDL+AAA PSU-Apr 2025 Index Fund will be closed, and its unitholders will be transferred units of the Aditya Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond Fund. The transfer has been designed to give investors continuous exposure to a diversified portfolio of corporate bonds in line with their investment objectives.

Unitholders who do not wish to proceed with the merged scheme are also entitled to opt out or change their investments without paying an exit load. The exit period is between March 31, 2025, and April 30, 2025, giving the unitholders sufficient time to decide on their investments.

The consolidation is a reflection of Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund’s commitment to maximizing its product portfolio and providing better value to its investors through efficient fund consolidation.
