Ambedkar Jayanti 2026: Government Declares April 14, 2026, Public Holiday
The Government has declared Tuesday, 14th April 2026, as a public holiday to mark the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
All Central Government Offices, including Industrial Establishments across India, will remain closed on this day.
The holiday has been officially announced through an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training).

Ambedkar Jayanti 2026 is the 135th birthday of Dr B.R. Ambedkar. People celebrate it every year to remember and honour Dr B.R. Ambedkar, who helped write the Indian Constitution and worked for equality and social justice. This day is also called Bhim Jayanti or Equality Day.
