Central GST Team Raids Jalandhar’s Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba Over Suspected GST Theft
On Tuesday, a team from the Central GST Department carried out raids at Jalandhar’s well-known Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba. One of the officials from the GST team told the media that along with the dhaba, raids were also conducted at the owners’ homes. He said that some cash was found during the searches and that the exact details will be shared soon.
Another GST official added that the raid at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba has been going on since Tuesday morning.
A GST official said, “The raid pertains to GST theft. Cash has also been found. More data on the amount of GST theft and cash recovered will be shared soon. Raid at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba as well as on their house took place.”
The team further declared that approximately Rs 3 crore in cash has been recovered from the owner’s house and property papers have been recovered from Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba.
An GST official stated, “A GST search was carried out today at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba. We carried out searches at 8 am in the morning. We also carried out a search at their residence. We recovered approximately Rs 3 crore in cash and documents of properties whose estimated value also runs into crores. We also recovered some documents from Dhaba as well. 1 to 2 phones have been seized as well. The case pertains to GST theft. We recovered cash from home and property documents from Dhaba.”
