Flipkart Asks Around 300 Employees to Exit After Its Annual Performance Review

Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce company, has confirmed that it has cut around 300 employees as part of its annual performance review process. The exits represent around 1.5% of the company’s workforce.

The company said that the exits are part of its routine performance management process. Under such a process, the employees who receive the lowest performance ratings may be asked to leave.

The company’s spokesperson said that Flipkart conducts detailed reviews every year to evaluate its employees’ performance during the year. As a part of this process, a small percentage of employees may transition from the organisation. The spokesperson said that the affected employees are given support during the transition.

This comes amid the company’s preparation for a potential public listing in India. The company has got approval from the Indian government to shift its holding company’s domicile from Singapore to India.
