Google Launches Gemini AI in India for Android Users in 9 Local Languages
Google launched Gemini AI in India for all Android phones. Reacting to it, they said that it was first released on Android 12, but Gemini AI is now extendable to more devices.
Reports state that Google has formally increased compatibility for its AI assistant with legacy Android phones. It is also important to note that the new features and the ability to install and use the AI chatbot are available for users whose devices are on Android 10 and 11, due to updates from the latest application versions.
Gemini Now In India
The most recent version of the Gemini app for Android is v1.0.0.626720042. It will support devices on Android 10 and 11 only. This is expected to cut down on the minimum system requirements from what is currently available in Android 12.
Those who still stick to old Android versions, can now install Gemini using the Google Play Store and use the app without needing the web version. Gemini 1.5 Pro demonstrates an increased level of advancement in artificial intelligence technology.
Besides this, in a Google blog post, they shared that they will be introducing the interaction with Gemini in Google Messages, and the option will be available in English only at the beginning.
Steps To Install Gemini
- To Check your phone’s software version: Settings > About Phone or System > About Device.
- Download Gemini: Open the Google Play Store app and then search for “Gemini” and download the app.
- Set Gemini as your default assistant.
- Open the Google app.
- Click on your profile picture which will be in the top right corner.
- Select “Settings” and then “Google Assistant.”
- Look for “Digital assistants from Google.”
- Choose “Gemini” from the available options.
