GSK Pharma Receives Rs. 3.79 Crore GST Demand Notice from MP Authorities

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, a research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, recently disclosed to BSE Ltd and NSE Ltd regarding the receipt of a demand order on January 21, 2026, from Madhya Pradesh GST authorities.

The company made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The tax department (Deputy Commissioner of CGST & Central Excise, Division-III, Indore) has issued a demand notice to the company for a total amount of Rs. 37,925,656. This amount includes Rs. 1,89,62,828 towards tax, an equal amount of Rs. 1,89,62,828 as a penalty, and interest (which has not yet been calculated). The demand relates to certain issues concerning input tax credit for the financial years 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2022-23.

The company further clarified that this matter does not affect its financial operations. It is currently reviewing the order and will take appropriate actions.
