GST Department Imposes Penalty of Rs 2.63 Crore on Delhivery Subsidiary Ecom Express
The subsidiary company of Delhivery, Ecom Express Limited, a logistics service Provider, has recently disclosed to the stock exchanges, National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange, about the receipt of a GST order dated 21.10.2025, demanding Rs 2.63 Crore from the Assistant Commissioner (CGST), Patna, Bihar.
The order was passed under Section 74 of the CGST/Bihar GST Act, 2017 and related to the tax period from Financial Year 2018-19 to 2022-23.
The penalty has been levied on the company due to the Disallowance of Input Tax Credit (ITC) and Short Payment of Tax. As a result, the department imposed a tax demand of Rs 1,31,49,001, an equal penalty of Rs 1,31,49,001, and interest of Rs 35,094, making the total penalty Rs 2,63,33,096.
The company has clearly mentioned that there is no material impact on the financials, operations, or other activities of the company. Ecom is planning to challenge the order by filing an appeal with the appellate authority.
