HC Dismisses Bribery Allegations Against HDFC Bank CEO
On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court dismissed an FIR that was filed against Sashidhar Jagdishan.
This complaint was filed by the trust that runs Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, which manages the well-known Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. The trust had accused Jagdishan of taking a bribe of Rs 2.05 crore from Chetan Mehta.
The trust said the alleged bribe was given in exchange for financial advice and help in maintaining control over how the trust is run. They also claimed that Jagdishan misused his role as the head of HDFC Bank to interfere in the trust’s internal matters.
However, after considering all the facts of the case, the High Court decided to cancel the FIR.
