Highway Travel Update: NHAI Announces Revised FASTag Annual Pass Rate from April

On Sunday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued a press release, revising the fee applicable for the FASTag Annual Pass.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. The new price will start from April 1, 2026. This small increase follows the rules under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

More than 56 lakh people already use the FASTag Annual Pass, and its popularity is increasing among private vehicle owners.

The revised pass will be available for non-commercial vehicles that have a valid FASTag. It can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways. The annual pass is useful because it removes the need to recharge FASTag frequently. After paying a one-time fee, the pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first.

After paying the fee, the annual pass is activated within about two hours on the FASTag linked to the vehicle. Users can make the payment through the Rajmarg Yatra app or the National Highways Authority of India website.

The FASTag Annual Pass was launched on August 15, 2025, and it has received a very positive response from highway users. It provides a more convenient and cost-effective way to travel on national highways across India.
