IndiGo Receives Rs 117 Crore Penalty Order Regarding Denied ITC From GST Department

The InterGlobe Aviation Limited, operating a well-known airline called IndiGo, received a penalty order of Rs 117 crore for Financial Years 2018-19 to 2021-2022 by the Joint Commissioner of Central Tax and Central Excise, CGST Kochi Commissionerate, Kerala.

This disclosure was made by InterGlobe Aviation under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (“SEBI Regulations”). Through which, the company informed about the receipt of demand order on December 1, 2025.

Company further added that the department has denied input tax credit (ITC) availed by the Company and has issued a demand order along with a penalty. However, the company believes that the order passed by the Joint Commissioner of Central Tax and Central Excise is inaccurate and the company will take appropriate steps to challenge the penalty order before the concerned authorities.

The company also added that there is no significant impact on financial, operational or other activities of the Company.
