Kisan Samman Nidhi 19th Installment Released; Check Eligibility and Beneficiary Status
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme (PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi) directly to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers to support the farming communities.
What is the PM Kisan Scheme?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is an initiative by the Indian government that was launched on 24th February 2019 to provide financial aid to eligible farmers per year. Under this scheme, each eligible farmer receives an annual income of Rs.6,000 in three monthly installments of Rs.2,000.
The 18th installment was released on 5th October 2014 by Prime Minister Modi in Washim, Maharashtra.

eKYC for PM Kisan
eKYC is compulsory for farmers registered under PM Kisan. Farmers can get access to OTP-based eKYC on the PMKISAN portal or they can contact the nearest Common Service Centres for biometric-based eKYC.
The different modes of eKYC are as follows:
i) OTP-based eKYC.
ii) Biometric-based e-KYC.
iii) Face authentication-based e-KYC.
Eligibility Criteria for PM-Kisan Scheme
The following farmers are eligible for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi:
- The beneficiary should be an Indian citizen.
- Small and marginal farmers.
- Farmer families that hold cultivable land can also apply.
Who is not eligible for the PM-Kisan Scheme?
The following categories of higher income status are not eligible:
1. All institutional landholders
2. Farmers families that belong to one or more of the following categories:
- Individuals who hold or have held a constitutional post.
- Individuals who serve or have served as employees/officers of central/state government ministries/ offices/ departments and their unit field.
- Present and Former ministers/state ministers and former/present Members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/state State assemblies/state legislative State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, and former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats
- Superannuated/retired pensioners who receive a monthly pension of Rs.10,000 or more (excluding the pensioner, which belongs to a multi-tasking staff, class IV or group D employees).
- Individuals who have paid income tax in the last assessment year.
- Families with professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects registered with professional bodies
How can Farmers check Beneficiary Status?
Through the following steps, beneficiary status can be checked:
Step 1: Visit the official website of PM Kisan and navigate to the beneficiary status page
Step 2: Click on the beneficiary status button and enter your Aadhaar number or account number.
Step 3: Click on the “Get Data” button, view your beneficiary status and check for payment status.
