Mahila Samman Yojana: Delhi Women to Receive their First Installment of Rs. 2,500 from this Date
Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, announced on February 20, 2025, that eligible women of Delhi will get their first installment of Rs.2500 per month in the Mahila Samman Yojana from March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Many states in India have designed schemes to support women financially and promote women’s empowerment. Mahila Samman Yojana is one of these schemes that was introduced to provide financial aid to the women of Delhi. Earlier, the AAP government provided Rs.1,000 to eligible women over 18 years, which they planned to increase to Rs.2,100.
Is it for all Women of Delhi?
The scheme is not designed for every woman in Delhi; it is only meant for needy women with low-income backgrounds and above the age of 18 years. However, the following women may not qualify under this scheme.
1. Government Employees: women working in government jobs, whether permanent or temporary, are excluded
2. Women with high family income: Those whose family income exceeds Rs. 3 lakh are not eligible.
3. Income Taxpayer: women who pay income tax will not get the benefit under this scheme
4. Pension Beneficiaries: Those women who are already receiving pension benefits from other schemes are not eligible.

- Residence proof of Delhi
- Income Certificate
- Aadhaar-linked bank account
