10 Best Performing Equity Mutual Funds of 2024 Which Gave Highest Returns
An equity mutual fund is a type of mutual fund that invests at least 60% or more of the scheme’s assets in equity stocks. Many mutual fund investors look for the best mutual fund before finalizing any investment scheme.
The best 10 performers in the list were from the categories of sectoral/thematic, midcap, ELSS, flexi cap, small-cap, and large & midcap funds. Around seven equity mutual funds offered more than 50% returns in 2024.
The best two schemes in the list were from Mirae Asset Mutual Fund. Mirae Asset NYSE FANG+ETF FoF, which delivered 82.43% return, and Mirae Asset S&P 500 Top 50 ETF FoF delivered 63.73% return in 2024, respectively.
The Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund only gave the best performance in midcap funds which delivered 60.52% return during the given period. LIC MF Infra Fund, an infrastructure sector-based fund, gave 52.52% return during the same period.
The other five funds in the list were from Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund. Motilal Oswal ELSS Tax Saver Fund and Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF gave a return of approx. 50.49% and 50.37%, respectively, in 2024.
Motilal Oswal Flexi Cap Fund offered a 50.23% return, and Motilal Oswal Small Cap Fund gave 49.29% return in 2024. Motilal Oswal Large & Midcap Fund delivered 48.84% return during the same time.
The only fund in the defence sector is the HDFC Defence Fund, which delivered a 48.75% return at the same time.
Apart from this, 455 equity mutual funds offered positive returns between 0.22% and 47.59% in the mentioned period. About seven funds gave negative returns during the same period. The fund that shows a negative performance belongs to the international fund category.
