Small-cap schemes invest in very small companies or their stocks. For this reason, investing in small stocks can be very risky. The small-cap segment can be more volatile in the short term, but for a long-term duration, it has the potential to give the highest returns. These schemes are suggested only for aggressive investors who are ready to take high risks for a long period of around seven to ten years. Small-cap schemes are extremely risky for inexperienced investors.
