Stock Market Holiday for Holi: Will It Be March 3 or March 4?
There was some confusion about the exact dates of Holi and Dhulandi this year. However, the stock exchanges have now made things clear. As per the official holiday calendar of the exchanges, Indian stock markets will remain closed on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
On this day, there will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivatives, or the securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segment. This closure applies to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Normal trading activities will resume on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
March Holidays
Apart from Holi, the stock market will remain closed on the following two days in March:
March 26: Ram Navami
March 31: Mahavir Jayanti
April Holidays
The stock market will observe the following holidays in April:
April 3: Good Friday
April 14: Ambedkar Jayanti (Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti)
May Holidays
The stock market will remain closed on the following days in May:
May 1: Maharashtra Day
May 28: Bakrid
Commodity Market Timings
Commodity markets will be only partly open.
- MCX (Multi-Commodity Exchange) will be closed in the morning, but it will open in the evening from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM.
- NCDEX (National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange) will be closed for the whole day.
